The more room you give on the edge the closer the vehicles will come to you. I could have adjusted the mirrors easily on a van yesterday that went by me. Oh and the two crotch rockets that passed me at 90 mph. Maybe in my silly jersey beside a spare tube I should also start carrying personal protection. I could have a sticker saying this biker armed, give me my share of the road or I'll take it.

::shudder::

I was at that memorial service. I saw Kylie standing there. I can't look at that photo without having a reaction. The road those cyclists were riding on is a popular place because the shoulder is huge. I was riding in that area a few weeks ago and almost had a panic attack. I've never really been scared on my bike except for that day. All I could think about was that accident, and I had to turn around and go back to my car after only 10 miles. Now I worry about any road with a posted speed limit over 50.

I don't have much of an opinion of Lance Armstrong either way, but I'm so glad he has the clout to get on Kornheiser's show and talk some sense into his audience ... I hope.
